I thought this one could be of interest to some of the crowd so
I'd be grateful if you could pass this email on to the others.
It's not that I'm trying to pinch all your divers but I'm sure
you can spare one or two for the week.
A friend and I are putting together a one week trip on board
the Elizabeth G (liveaboard) out of Oban. The target is to get
out to St Kilda. If you're not familiar with St Kilda it's the
most westerly part of the UK, the remotest, the least visited
and the hardest to get to but well worth the effort. The
excellent plan b if the weather beats us is the excellent
diving around the outer hebrides.
We've got a provisional booking with Eliz G and up to the 14th
May (10 days) to stump up the deposit money. So look closely
at your diary as this is for next summer (2013) June 22nd to
28th plus you'll need to allow 2 days travel to and from Oban.
The cost is £875 which includes full board and your air.
The extras you'll need to allow for are Nitrox, booze and
travel to Oban.
Although the diving will be a mix of wreck and scenic in some
wild and woolly places it will be suitable for "adventurous"
sports divers and above.
And now the rub, it's strictly first come first served, and
that means a £275 deposit to me (cheques payable to Richard
Carter-Savigear) by the 14th of this month just to get your
name on the list. I wont hold places for waverers, money
talks. Thereafter the balance of £600 is to be paid at a
minimum rate of £50 a month. Take note that for anyone who
drops out monies are non refundable unless a suitable
replacement is found.
If you need any convincing have a look on the Internet as
there are some excellent sites about St Kilda, a truly awesome
I hope to hear from you. All the best.
